This shop stocks Irish language titles in novels, short stories, poetry, non-fiction and children's books, and has a large section dedicated to Irish learners.

Carlisle Bookshop

A good range of general titles with in-depth coverage of biography, educational texts, children's books, cookery, gardening, mind, body and spirit, and sport. A strong local section including local history projects.

Foyle Books

Stocks mostly secondhand books, around 25,000 volumes, the new section contains a selection of titles from local and smaller presses, such as Blackstaff and Guildhall. It also stocks a wide range of publications from historical and cultural associations from north and south of the border.

Little Acorns Bookstore

In the basement of the city's Old Library, this part-time shop opens from Friday to Sunday selling mainly Irish-related books, publishers and authors. Specialities include signed local publications from Guildhall Press, children's books, hobby titles, plus film, art and literary postcards and prints.
