Heritage Days and CultureTECH

This week is Heritage week and there are lots of events running currently around the country including in  Donegal. Information is available here 



In Northern Ireland a heritage weekend is running on 14th and 15th September. There are a lot of heritage buildings open and free to enter that weekend with lots of events planned. This year with the city of culture initiative there's lots going on around Derry that weekend. There is a website of events here and they include many cultural and writing/reading based initiatives.  Some examples:

Poetry Please! Louis MacNeice house (Belfast, I think)  - Sun 3-4pm  Sept 15th Readings by Michael Longley, Sinead Morrissey, Ciaran Carson and Leontia Flynn.

Lyrical Legends! Peter Fahy storyteller Waterside Library, Derry (14th at 11am), and Culturlann Ui Chanain, Great James St., Derry (15th 2.30pm)


There's also CultureTECH which runs all that week ending on the weekend of the Heritage events (9-15th September). Its website and events are here  This covers many different types of events some again reading and writing based - film etc etc They are all in Derry. Here are some interesting examples:

Audio Drama Workshop (Shipquay St.)  12.00 - 13.30 Sat 14th - free
Creatively Mobile: Text poems - (venue TBC) Sat 14th - free
Lit Word Bits - Craft Village Sat 14th performamce art and sound poetry - 20.00 - 21.30 - free
