Ten writers have been shortlisted for the recent Irish Times competition. The names are available here  The winning story will be published in the paper's Weekend Review as the final story of its series on Saturday 28th September. Also, the ten shortlisted stories will be available to read from Monday 23rd September at

Well done everyone listed. I'm particularly delighted to see that Elizabeth Reapy, editor of Wordlegs,  has made the shortlist. Elizabeth came to the North West Words Writing Weekend in Letterkenny this July to speak about all things publishing related on a panel along with Declan Meade (The Stinging Fly), John Walsh and Lisa Frank (Doire Press), and Kate and Joan Newman (Summer Palace Press). Elizabeth read one of her stories at an evening reading, and I was lucky enough to hear her that night. Put it this way, I'm not surprised she's a shortlistee!

And, speaking of shortlists, The Over The Edge New Writer of The Year 2013 shortlist was announced last night in Galway. See here
